Account & Data Deletion
How to request deletion of your ADID account and associated personal and physiologic data.
You can request deletion of your ADID account and the personal and physiologic data associated with it at any time. This page describes exactly what gets deleted, what may be retained for legal or clinical-compliance reasons, and how to submit a request.
How to request deletion
You have two ways to request deletion of your ADID account and data:
- From within the ADID app: open the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete my account, and follow the prompts. You will be asked to confirm before deletion proceeds.
- By email: send a message to privacy@adid.app from the email address associated with your ADID account, with the subject line “Account & Data Deletion Request.” Please include your full name on the account and, if available, your date of birth, so we can verify your identity. Do not send sensitive medical details by email.
What gets deleted
When your deletion request is processed, the following information is permanently removed from our active production systems:
- Your account profile, including name, email address, and authentication credentials.
- Demographic and clinical context you provided through the App.
- Your physiologic and sensor data, including heart rate, heart rate variability, and blood pressure trend records.
- User-entered notes, symptom tags, and contextual entries.
- Device pairing records and App preferences associated with your account.
- Diagnostic logs that are linked to your account identifier.
What may be retained, and for how long
In limited circumstances we may retain certain information after account deletion, in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law:
- Clinical and medical records: where ADID is operating as a business associate of a clinic, hospital, or other healthcare provider under HIPAA or equivalent law, physiologic and clinical records may be considered part of the covered entity’s medical record and retained for the period required by applicable medical-records laws (typically 6 to 10 years, and longer in some jurisdictions and for minors). In that case the covered entity, not ADID, controls retention.
- De-identified data: data that has been irreversibly de-identified and aggregated, such that it can no longer be linked to you, may be retained to support quality, research, and product improvement.
- Legal, audit, and security records: minimal records needed to demonstrate compliance with legal obligations, defend legal claims, prevent fraud, or maintain security may be retained for up to 7 years.
- Backups: residual copies in encrypted, access-restricted backup systems are overwritten on our normal backup rotation schedule, typically within 90 days, after which the data is no longer recoverable.
How long deletion takes
- We confirm receipt of your request within 5 business days.
- We complete deletion in our active production systems within 30 days of verifying your identity.
- Residual copies in encrypted backup systems are overwritten within approximately 90 days of the deletion date.
- If your account is connected to a clinical site, we will notify that site that the account has been deleted, where required.
Before you delete
- If you want a copy of your data, request a data export before requesting deletion. Email privacy@adid.app.
- If your care team is actively monitoring you through ADID, consider letting them know in advance, as your physiologic data stream will end.
- Deletion is permanent. Once completed, accounts and data cannot be restored.
